Shapes of Change
As promised, here (.pdf file*) is Signal to Noise's entry for the Holding Patterns competition. I pulled this photo out to share but you'll have to look at the entry to see the rest.
*Please let me know if you can't see the file; I've never tried to share a pdf and heard Scribd was good for it...

Signal to Noise!
I just saw Signal to Noise's entry for the Holding Patterns competition and am floored, both by their idea and their presentation (I'll share later, if it's alright with them*). I've also been in touch with the Design Commission about helping actualize their favorite projects. More news to come.
(*UPDATE: click here to see their entry.)
In the meantime, Thursday night is Alleycat Acres big fundraiser at grey. Come on by!

And I understand making concessions to make things happen: for instance, we get permission from the owners of the lot to hold events there and pay for insurance; these folks agreed to walk around with backpacks on in exchange for $10,000 of party-organizing money. What would I have done in their situation? I'm not sure.
Garden at 13th/Marion
Over on the Alleycat Acres blog, there is a call for gardeners interested in the space behind Photographic Center Northwest. Check it out.

Perspective
Thinking about the DPD and AIA calls for activating vacant spaces in silly, whimsical, ephemeral ways and I came across this...
